The Monthly Passage

"He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers"
--Proverbs19:8 (NIV)

The Imani Offering

CynthiaFlowers
Is There No Love
Among Us

This month our special Imani, or Faith, Offering is composed by inspirational novelist Cynthia J. Flowers, no stranger to the pages of Praise. Entitled, "Is There No Love Among Us" it's the story of one woman's struggle to balance the actions of others in accordance to Christ's teachings in the one place one should never have to ponder on the sincerity of His so-called followers.

Food For Thought
The Monthly Word: On Proverbs 19:1-29
by Sis. Laura Adams

LauraAdams&LtGovBroganA very important time of the year is coming. The Easter season is nearly apon us, a time for all of Christ's followers to reflect on what happen at the Cross. During the crucifiction, there were a lot of ignorant people making decisions about a Man who never did wrong to anyone. His crime? Spreading the word about a Heavenly Father who loves all of His Children. As we all get prepared to hear the story of why we celebrate Easter and the importance of the season, let's think for a moment. What if the Lord had chosen one of us? What if He had attempted to bring the message today? There's a passage in Proverbs 19:1-29 that comes to mind. I shall share with you just a portion of the text. "It's wise to be patient...It is better to be poor and live right that to be a stupid liar." Willingness and stupidity do not go well together my friends. If you are too eager to reach the dock, you will surely miss the boat. We are ruined by our own stupidity though we blame the Lord. Take this month's message and start thinking about your relationship with God. Pray and ask our Almighty Father where do you really stand in His eyes? Ask yourself, does my character reflect any of the words I just read in Proverbs 19? Am I apart of it, do I live a life reflected in the text? Do I act like this, or do I speak like this? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you should pray. Say to the Lord, "please forgive me and show me what I must do to make it right between You and I, Christ Jesus. I do not want to be like this in my life with You." From now until Easter comes, please read with me each month the word about the Cross.

At this time I would like to thank all the children who participated in Black Heritage last motnh for a great job well done in Orlando. I am so very proud of each and everyone of you. To all of our award winners, I thank you. God is so please with what all of you did in Orlando that He is still smiling with unpseakable joy for what His children did for Him. I will always cherish my Black Heritage memories. To the parents who accompanied the Youth Church to Orlando, thank you for all that you did as well in helping your child and the other children do what they needed to do to get the job done. God will bless you. He is smiling down on you also. Michael thank you for all the driving that you did. I know it wasn't easy for you, but you hung on in there. You brought our precious cargo back safe. To all the one's that helped with the children while in Orlando, seeing that the children were where they needed to be and staying up so late to make sure our children had everything they needed for there performances, I want to say thanks again. God bless all of you for the prayers and support. I am proud to be a Flipperite alongside the people that know what it takes to do work for the Lord. Thanks Pastor Bell for coming down to support us, the children were happy to see you. Additionally, to the members of my Flipper family who stayed behind and prayed for our going and coming. I know God heard all of your prayers and I know He is going to bless Flipper in a way that it has never been blessed before. It is because of the all the love and hard work that each of us do in His house that He know's every heart and what's in that heart too. I thank you and please enjoy this month's message.
