Get In Step With Christ

BetaNuAlphas
Due to the Spring Break 2001 hiatus, Flipper Chapel's first annual Greek Day has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 8 during the 11:00am worship service. The event is still being co-chaired by dedicated Flipperites Sis(s). Carrie Herring and Lucille Cofield and is geared to honoring the young men and woman who are members of the area's numerous hard-working fraternities and sororities who commit much of their time to serving Tallahassee through various charitable causes. Like the brothers of FAMU's Betu Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc (left). Phi Beta Sigma member Damon Miller will be the keynote speaker as the congregation will witness its ranks joined by delegations of Deltas, Kappas, Alphas, and AKAs dressed in their respective colors and regalia. It is anticipated that each group in attendance will display information pertaining to their organization in the Memorial Hall in order that we as a church might become more familiarized with all that they do for the community as a whole collectively.

He is Risen!

TheAscencionPraise the Lord! Easter is apon us and, as is tradition, that means time for Flipper's annual Easter Program. The event will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 4:00pm. Performed by the eager members of our Youth Church under the direction of Sis. Ruby Edwards, the program will feature speeches relevant to the sacred occasion. Rehearsals have been ongoing since the middle of last month and will be held up to the weekend of the event on the following dates: April 9th, 11th, and 12th between the hours of 6:30 and 8:00pm. For more information please contact Sis. Edwards.

Oh, Drama!

PlaybillThis year, as part of our annual Fellowship Day 2001 Observance, the newly formed Flipper Chapel Youth Drama Ensemble will perform a play entitled, "Calm Down, Shut Up, and Quit Trippin", written and directed by Bro. Mike Catledge with the assistance of Sis(s). Laura Adams and Sylvia Livingston. There is still much groundwork to be covered so all participants and interested parties are asked to offer their full cooperation to the Ensemble as they prepare to work diligently to bring family, friends and the officers and members of Flipper this unique production. The play is offered is a means to minister to those who may not be aware of the often self-destructive challenges our youth faces today--such as drug-addiction, teen pregancy, peer-pressure and over-exposure to wanton violence--as well as as chance to include our Youth in what has become a highlighted event in the Flipper Chapel calendar year. For more information and rehearsal schedule, please contact Bro. Catledge.
