Man of the Year: Bro. Gary Campbell

Bro. Gary Campbell was born in DeFuniak Springs, Fl. the son of the late Champney and Agnes Campbell. He graduated from Walton Sr. High and attended Okaloosa-Walton Community College before enrolling at Florida State University where he earned a degree in accounting. Gary, a soft-spoken man of few words and quiet resolve, married the former Miss Greta Stephens, a Tallahassee area native. The Campbells have a daughter, Ebony, who is very active in our Youth Church and is always willing to accompany her parents to church functions. Mr. Campbell currently works for the office of Auditor-General of the state of Florida. Reared up in Mt. Olive AME Church of Red Bay, FL, he now makes Flipper Chapel his spritual home. Gary serves on and is the president of Usher Board No. 2, he sits on the Board of Stewards and is a member of the Financial Committee. He also participates on the Pastor's Aid Board and assists with the Church Van Ministry. He is presently interested in formulating a chapter of the Richard Allen Men's Society (RAMS) here at Flipper. A past "Father of the Year", Bro. Campbell is held in very high regard at Flipper as he is known to be a man of good service to both Flipper and the Lord. Always amiable to do whatever it takes to insure the success of the church and the spirit of goodwill amongst it's congregation, it is no wonder this ever-smiling dedicated congregant has been chosen by his peers as our first "Man of the Year" honoree! God bless you Bro. Campbell for all you have done, are doing, and will evidently do in the future on behalf of Flipper and your extended Flipper Family.

SisLauraAdamsWoman of the Year: Sis. Laura Adams

The indefatible and outspoken Sis. Laura Adams is a native of Charlotte, NC and has been married to her husband Carl for 24 years. The couple have one grown son, Parise Adams, and are the proud foster parents to another, Christopher Underhill. Currently employed by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Sis. Adams participates on that agency's Safety and United Way committees. A Flipperite of long standing, Sis. Adams maintains a highly visible presence within the community through her dedication to many charitble causes--the one which is closest to her heart is her association with Boys and Girls Town of Tallahassee where she holds the position of area spokesperson. She is certified First Responder and a member of the Foster Parent Association. A dedicated Flipperite and tither truly at one with the Lord, Laura sits on the Board of Stewards. She is also the director of the Ministry of Membership, Evangelism and Worship, a member of the Board of Christian Education, Choir #2, and assists with the YPDers. Sis. Adams was certified earlier this year by the AME Church to minister to prisoners. A neighbor always willing to help a neighbor, she may be called on at anytime should you need a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen with. No wonder she has been chosen as our first "Woman of the Year". My God continue to bless one of his most devoted Christian servants.

MrChrisUnderhillYouth of the Year: Master Christopher Underhill

Christopher Underhill is truly a unique young man. The foster child of Bro. Carl and Sis. Laura Adams, it is quite evident that this child of God is being "reared up" in Church not only by his loving parents but also by members of his extended Flipper Family. A 4th grader at Woodville Elementary School, Chris is an avid reader who loves to draw and play video games. Entertaining, well-grounded, and full of high spirit, he is one of the more active members of our Youth Church. Inevitably, if there's something in the works this young man is always present to offer a helping hand and participate with great interest and glee. He is a member of the YPD, the Youth Lay, Choir #3, the Step Team, the Youth Drama Ensemble and attends Church School regularly. Often, during the Children's Hour portion of the Sunday worship service and other church functions, Chris can be relied upon to offer up a sincere and deeply felt prayer. It is for these and many other reasons that Chris has been chosen as our first "Youth of the Year". Bless you Master Underhill for being one of our Heavenly Father's most gifted jewels.
